No drilling or special tools required for this set up. The K40 is popular for its incredible transmit and receive performance as well as its versatile options for installation. You can choose to attach it to your truck lip with the included mount or permanently install it on your vehicles roof (drilling required) with the included hardware - the choice is yours. The twist-to-remove features allows the antenna to separate at the base, ideal if you’re entering a low-clearance area. For permanent roof installations, you'll need to drill a hole in the mounting surface with access from below. For installation with vehicle headliners, the headliner must be removed prior to drilling. The coax cable connects to the antenna at a very low angle, so it's possible to re-install the headliner without noticing the coax or antenna mount post-install. |

This lip-mounted CB antenna from K40 provides a number of attractive features, including twist-off removal of coil and whip, a long 57" steel whip antenna and an extended five-year manufacture's warranty. The antenna can be mounted permanently on the roof (drilling required), OR on the trunk lip for a secure but less permanent installation. Our pictures show a rooftop mount, but trunk-lip installations are easy with the included trunk-lip adapter.
