The 980 Bearcat is Uniden’s first SSB radio in over a decade, and boy was it worth the wait!  The Single Side Band capability allows you to talk up to 3x further — perfect for the CBer that wants to reach as far as possible. The high-tech interface has a 7-color digital display and comes fully equipped with a digital SWR meter, radio diagnostics, PA capability, channel scanning, and a dimmer switch. Need us to go on? Uniden answers the call to provide an advanced CB radio that has SSB functionality. This radio has a fresh design and is unlike anything Uniden has produced in the past. At first look, you'll notice the massive color LCD display dominating the radio's face. This display has seven different color options and shows the CB channel, frequency, digital SRF and SWR meters, and other radio functions.

The Uniden 980's features don't stop there. Weather stations, scanning and alerts keep you informed of current conditions and severe weather situations. The radio check diagnostic feature provides information on RF power, antenna condition and battery voltage. Other functions include a PA (public address) mode, antenna warning indicator, RF gain, channel memory and instant channel 9/19.
