The screw-off coil allows the antenna to separate at the coax-wired base for convenience when entering low-clearance areas or for temporary antenna storage. For installation with vehicle headliners, the headliner must be removed prior to drilling. The coax cable connects to the antenna at a low angle, so it's possible to re-install the headliner without noticing the coax or antenna mount post-install. |
